Dieser alternative LEGO Black Panther-Bausatz schreibt die Geschichtsbücher neu
The builder who previously rescued 76210 Hulkbuster hat sich ins Visier genommen LEGO Marvel 76215 Schwarzer Panther, transforming the much-maligned model into something seriously spectacular.
LEGO Marvel has had a handful of high-profile misfires over the past few years, and top of that list are 76210 Hulkbuster und 76215 Schwarzer Panther. While they had their fans, these two large-scale sets were mostly met with Kritik von dem LEGO community – at least as they were originally designed. But the reputation of the Hulkbuster was ultimately saved by Ransom Fern, who cooked up a much better-received version of the 4,049-piece set using only the elements included in the box.
He’s now turned his attentions to 76215 Schwarzer Panther, and the result is… something else. Again using only the parts included in the 2022 set – which come together to recreate the Marvel character’s cowl and forearms – Ransom Fern has transformed the 2,961-piece bust into a stunning full upper torso and head, with the same crossed-arms ‘Wakanda Forever’ salute, that’s also to scale with the rest of the LEGO Marvel helmet and bust collection.
“I genuinely did not expect this project to take as long as it did,” Ransom Fern explained over on YouTube. “I felt every day for five months like it was surely a month from being done. The most important thing to get right was always going to be the cowl. The diagonal building results in a little bit of collision, but nothing that sets off BrickLink Studio detectors.”
You only need to look at the reactions to the build on Instagram, reddit and YouTube to see that this is doing for Black Panther what Ransom Fern’s previous alternate design did for the Hulkbuster: convincing people to buy a LEGO set they’d otherwise written off.
Die schlechte Nachricht ist, dass 76215 Schwarzer Panther has long since retired, so you’ll need to turn to the secondary market to get your hands on it now. The good news is that it was so unpopular during its original run that it can be picked up new and sealed on Bricklink for around half its original price – at least at the time of writing.
If Ransom Fern’s build has the expected effect, chances are that demand for 76215 Black Panther is going to skyrocket, so best not wait until there are fewer copies out there (at higher prices) if you want to put together this alternate build.
