Detailed LEGO train pulls into next Ideas review stage
The next LEGO Ideas review stage is continuing to grow as a detailed brick-built steam train has made its way to the 10K club station.
Union Pacific “Big Boy” from LEGO Ideas user Lassehfl is their third project and first to reach any review stage, making them the latest member of the 10K club. Their suggestion for a future lego set depicts the largest and most powerful steam locomotive in the world.
Proposed inclusions are the main train model, a display stand featuring the track and one minifigure. It joins The Meeting Point in the third 2021 review stage as two train-centric models competing for the judges’ favour.
The build was recently updated to show how motorisation can be added to the model and redesign the internal structure to support this effort.
This is one of 26 projects in the growing third 2021 review phase, with every submission in it so far listed below:

Author Profile
- LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
