About LEGO Creator Expert

The LEGO Creator Expert branding officially arrived in 2013, with four sets that demonstrate the diversity of the adult orientated theme – 10232 Palace Cinema, 10233 Horizon Express, 10234 Sydney Opera House and 10235 Winter Village Market. This was not the first year that the LEGO Group had released models for adults, with sophisticated building techniques and enormous piece counts, but before then they had simply been labelled with ‘LEGO’.

10232 Palace Cinema continued the modular building series, which started in 2008 but now sits within the Creator Expert theme. Over the years, the buildings have covered European architecture with sets such as 10243 Parisian Restaurant and 10218 Pet Shop, and American architecture with sets such as 10260 Downtown Diner and 10264 Corner Garage.

Fairground rides are another mainstay in Creator Expert with 10244 Fairground Mixer, 10247 Ferris Wheel and 10257 Carousel offering collectors the opportunity to construct an expanding amusement park. Each one tends to include a function that can be motorised with Power Functions or Powered Up! components. 10261 Roller Coaster introduced new pieces that finally allows fans to build a coaster.

Car fans are more than catered for in the theme, with detailed models at a much larger than minifigure scale. Popular sets such as 10252 Volkswagen Beetle paved the way for more vehicle based releases. Recently, 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 combined a detailed car model with movie magic, featuring a working ejector seat function.

Every Christmas, fans are treated to a new Winter Village set, with the series building snow covered structures that expand a Christmas card winter scene. Typically these are real world scenarios such as 10259 Winter Village Station, but occasionally dip into fantasy with sets such as 10245 Santa’s Workshop.

These series are not the limit of what Creator Expert offers, with the most advanced system building experiences dipping into different subject matter to appeal to adult fans. It is the theme that, alongside Technic, demonstrates how much fun LEGO sets can be for so-called grown-ups.
