As we blast towards 2016 news of new sets due next year are starting to appear thick and fast. One such snippet of information already in the wild is the appearance of Disney characters in the next but one series of the popular LEGO Minifigures range. Now according to Brick Pirate forum it’s been revealed that the Disney series will increase the amount of characters to collect from 16 to 18. This is backed by an image showing the Series 15 box beside a plain branded box which clearly shows a ’18 to Collect’ bubble. It’s not yet known if this chnage is merely for the Disney series or will be the norm for all CMF series from now on.
Disney certainly have many characters to their name now as well as owning the Marvel and Star Wars brands. But it’s worth nothing Hasbro still owns the rights to produce single sale figures of the same size as minifigures and it would surely make more business sense to give both Star Wars and Marvel their own series, although it would impact upon system sets.
Disney LEGO Minifigures are expected to launch in May after Series 15 early next year.
