Donkey Kong could be coming to LEGO Super Mario

A tease for the upcoming LEGO Super Mario MAR10 Day event has teased what could be the first brick-built Donkey Kong. 

The LEGO Group is building excitement for the upcoming MAR10 Day stream at 4pm GMT today, March 10, 2023, with a new tease on Instagram. 

While it starts with a countdown, stick around on the story and a silhouette will appear, not quite matching any existing models in the theme. 

We know that a new set is being revealed at the MAR10 Day event, though nothing targeted at an 18+ audience. This silhouette features what appears to be rounded tan elements towards the bottom and a pointed shape with a strange flick at the top.

Matching the silhouette with that of Donkey Kong, it seems that the iconic character could be making his way to LEGO Super Mario in the future. 

However, this is only speculation and the fact that this is a brick-built silhouette suggests that it may not be an interactive figure similar to Mario, Peach and Luigi. 

We’ll likely know exactly what this tease means as part of the LEGO Group’s event on YouTube at 4pm GMT today, March 10, 2023.
