Seth Rogen’s Donkey Kong debuts in latest Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer
An all-new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie has revealed Donkey Kong himself, with the character voiced by Seth Rogen.
We’re only a few months away from the April 7, 2023 release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, with Illumination’s latest animated film featuring an all-star line-up of voice talent. Lending their famous pipes to the cast of the Nintendo flick are Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad.
In addition, Seth Rogan will be voicing another fan favourite character, Donkey Kong. A new trailer has been released to promote The Super Mario Bros. Movie, giving us our first look at the mighty ape in action. The brief promotional clip sees Mario and Donkey Kong battling it out in a packed arena in Super Smash Bros. style, with the plumber even donning his familiar Cat Suit power-up at one point.
A number of new LEGO Super Mario sets arrived on January 1, 2023, including 71413 Character Packs – Series 6. Recent rumours also suggest that six potential LEGO Super Mario models might be on their way this summer, with a fourth 18+ build possibly arriving in the second half of the year. That lead us to speculating that a massive buildable Donkey Kong character might be a great addition to the theme, although that’s pure speculation on our part and there’s been no confirmation from the LEGO Group regarding the sets.
