Empty shelves at Toys R Us stores in the UK

Empty shelves around Toys R Us stores in the UK suggest that the retailer is not currently receiving new stock.

Toys R Us stores are lacking stock in the post-Christmas period, with empty shelves a common sights at branches of the UK retailer. Brick Fanatics readers have reported a lack of stock at different Toys R Us outlets across the country. These images show the LEGO section in the Portsmouth branch, clearly lacking enough LEGO sets to fill the shelves:

Despite the lack of product in-store, there are still plenty of LEGO sets marked as available for delivery at the Toys R Us website.

It was announced late in 2017 that Toys R Us would close one quarter of UK stores, as the company had been struggling for a number of years, with out of town sales significantly down. A restructure plan was approved that will see stores close in Spring 2018, with more emphasis to be put on shopping centre stores and the retailer’s website.
