Final week for free LEGO CITY 40578 Sandwich Shop GWP

There’s only one week left to get your hands on LEGO CITY 40578 Sandwich Shop, which is currently free with all purchases above £90 / €90 online and in-store.

Comprising a charming kerbside sandwich kiosk and built around the relatively new LEGO CITY road plates, the 110-piece set is a pretty substantial freebie for its qualifying threshold. Highlights include its rare green bicycle, the (stickered) sandwich menus and the smart solution for the delivery person’s bag, which flips a classic mailbox on its side.

It’s a neat entry point to LEGO CITY, which is often priced fairly highly, for those who might not otherwise give the theme much of a look-in – but it’s only available until September 30 in the UK and Europe, or while stocks last. 40578 Sandwich Shop is inexplicably unavailable in the US, meanwhile, where 40529 Children’s Amusement Park was instead free with purchases of $90 for a limited time (but has now sold out).

There’s plenty available at LEGO.com right now to take you over its £90 / €90 threshold – our entire Top 20 LEGO Sets List is in stock and available with immediate delivery, for example – but there’s only one week left (at most) to take advantage.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
