The first LEGO Ideas set is 11 years old today
LEGO Ideas 21100 Shinkai 6500 Submarine was submitted 11 years ago today, marking an important anniversary for the fan-inspired theme.
On December 9, 2011, 21100 Shinkai 6500 Submarine was submitted to what was then LEGO CUUSOO, starting what has become a notable achievement for the LEGO Group. Since then, it would be a massive understatement to say the theme has seen some growth.
Over the past decade and one year, LEGO Ideas has grown to be arguably one of the biggest themes in the current portfolio, boasting an array of huge sets with all kinds of licenses.
From original concepts to Sonic the Hedgehog and famous artwork, 2022 has been another massive year for LEGO Ideas and there are exciting times ahead with everything from BTS to Dungeons & Dragons on the horizon.
