Five of the best LEGO coffee shops to warm up this winter

Many LEGO sets feature coffee shops of all shapes and sizes, and with winter approaching here are five of the best brick-built beaneries.

From the brick-built apocalypse to one of the most famous sitcoms ever made, LEGO coffee shops provide a welcoming way for your minifigures to warm up, especially as the winter season arrives with colder weather for many parts of the world.

Here are five of our favourite minifigure-scale coffee houses, including one that you can get right now for free on the official online store.

The LEGO Movie 2 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg!

Starting with the most unusual model on this list, 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! released in 2019 as part of The LEGO Movie 2’s range of corresponding sets depicting the apocalyptic home of Emmet and the other minifigures. While DUPLO monsters ravaged the world outside their walls, Apocalypseburg featured all the comforts of their old home with a twist, including Coffee Unchained.

While the interior might not be as warm and welcoming as it was in Bricksburg, this bistro is ready for the end of the world, but still offers your minifigure’s favourite drinks served from repurposed petrol pumps. You can see more of the shop in our in-depth review.

40358 Bean There, Donut That

At first glance, this set offers nothing unique to the other LEGO coffee shops on this list, with the usual assortment of hot drinks and savoury snacks offered. However, for 40358 Bean There, Donut That, it’s all in the name.

With a pun-centric title, 40358 Bean There, Donut That was available exclusively through Target in 2018, featuring 146 pieces and four minifigures. While not as expansive as other builds on this list, it arguably has the best name of them all.

Creator Expert 10255 Assembly Square

Speaking of size, one of the few fully built LEGO coffee shops can be found in Creator Expert 10255 Assembly Square and includes room for customers to sit and enjoy their purchases as well as a barista in uniform.

You can read our full review of 10255 Assembly Square to see more of the sizable coffee house, but it doesn’t manage to feature quite as much detail as the next entry. 10255 Assembly Square is available now on the official online store.

Ideas 21319 Central Perk

Since debuting as part of LEGO Ideas, Friends has gone on to get a massive LEGO for Adults model in the form of 10292 The Friends Apartments, but it all started with 21319 Central Perk in 2019.

Depicting one of the most iconic coffee shops on television, LEGO Ideas 21319 Central Perk (review) is packed with references to the show and details for any coffee-lover to appreciate. You can even pose your minifigures with the iconic cast as they take a seat around the signature table.

Creator 40488 Coffee Cart

As the most recent incarnation of the brick-built coffee shop, LEGO Creator 40488 Coffee Cart is a rarity in the range with a portable stand and an oversized sign, as well as exclusive stickers detailing a full menu of drinks that are available for purchase.

You can get 40488 Coffee Cart now on the official online store, but not as a set for individual ordering. Instead, you’ll need to get an order worth £65 / $65 / €65 together before November 14.
