Five uses for the LEGO Minifigure Factory

The LEGO Minifigure Factory is now available online. While it’s still in beta, we’ve found a few ways you can use the tool to create helpful minifigures.

In July 2022, the custom LEGO minifigure printing experience expanded beyond physical LEGO stores and onto LEGO.com in beta. The same toolset now features online, making it more accessible to use and easier to create specific torso designs.

By exploring the potential of the LEGO Minifigure Factory, we’ve found five uses for the experience and its custom minifigures, though note that there is a limit of only one minifigure per household at this time, but this may change once the program leaves beta.

5 – Gifts

One of the most obvious uses for the LEGO Minifigure Factory, even being displayed on the front page of the experience, is personalised gifts. Thanks to the options available including text, the LEGO Minifigure Factory can be used to help celebrate any event from birthdays to weddings.

4 – Citizens

Whether they live in a modern society, a fantasy world or somewhere in the future, the LEGO Minifigure Factory is also good for creating custom torsos for the people living in your LEGO displays. We’ve added a couple of examples above to showcase how you can augment existing LEGO minifigure torso designs with more details to help bring life to your custom characters.

3 – Mixing and matching

Alternatively, when the program moves beyond just one minifigure per household you could use it as a way to get custom-printed torsos and uncommon elements for any minifigures or projects you already have in development. However, the price of the LEGO Minifigure Factory at the time of writing – $11.99 – might only make this suggestion worth it if you need more unique torsos.

2 – Labels

Labels might not be the first possibility that comes to mind when you think of LEGO Minifigures but this could be a fun way to label shelves of models, drawers of parts or anything in-between with the current lineup of designs on the LEGO Minifigure Factory being well-suited to label several themes and more topics.

1 – Artwork

Who needs LEGO art when you can have a custom printed minifigure. Thanks to the designs available on the LEGO Minifigure Factory, it’s possible to create works of art on the torsos, which could then be cropped with existing elements to create an art gallery display or just used as regular shirts.
