Four details we spotted in the new summer LEGO Monkie Kid sets

The new LEGO Monkie Kid sets will be released in three weeks, and there’s a lot of interesting details in each of the four new sets.

The Monkie Kid LEGO collection continues to increase its portfolio, with each new set bringing something new and interesting to the table. With so much more to discover already, here’s a look at four interesting details that we’ve spotted from the new sets.

4 – Golden-Winged Eagle

The Golden-Winged Eagle from Monkie Kid, also known as Peng, is a demon character introduced in Season Four of Monkie Kid. While we’ve seen him in minifigure form before in 80045 Monkey King Ultra Mech, that particular set was priced at £119.99. The new set 80046 Monkie Kid’s Cloud Airship gives fans another chance to snag the character, as well as his special gold wings.

The first time we saw this particular wing design was back in 2021 with the now retired LEGO Vidiyo set of 43113 K-Pawp Concert. However, those wings for the unicorn minifigure were clear rather than gold. If you didn’t pick up the mech, now would be a great time to get Peng.

3 – The Khakkhara

There are quite a few new weapons in Season Four of Monkie Kid, with some of them being included with the new sets. The box art of each set shows if one of the weapons has been included, which may be helpful for those trying to collect all of them.

One of those new weapons that’s particularly unique is the khakkhara, which is typically carried by Buddhist monks. In the new set 80047 Mei’s Guardian Dragon, we see that there’s a minifigure version of the weapon in gold, and is shown in the images on being held by Tang.

2 – The Scroll of Memory

New set 80048 The Mighty Azure Lion shows the Azure Lion, another demon character, in mech form. We’ve seen a few Monkie Kid mechs before and this set is no less impressive, with a stunning colour scheme and five minifigures that come with it.

However, the point that really caught our attention was the scroll on the mech’s back, which doubles up as a six stud shooter for recreating exciting battle scenes. The scroll in the show is known as the Scroll of Memory and features several times in Season Four. As far as we know, it’s made of wooden strips or possibly bamboo, and the LEGO version reflects this really well.

1 – Ao Guang

The incredibly detailed new set 80049 Dragon of the East Palace has plenty to show off, coming with eight minifigures in total. One of these is Ao Guang, better known as the Dragon of the East. Again, we’ve seen him in minifigure format before in 80037 Dragon of the East, but this time, his outfit has changed significantly, and he now has movable legs.

All of the new summer Monkie Kid sets will be released on June 1 on, and until then there’s plenty of other sets from the series available right now.
