Four new LEGO sets to prioritise in August 2022

As we near the release date for dozens of LEGO sets and even more late launches in the US, there are some models you might want to prioritise.

August 1, 2022, is launch day for plenty of LEGO models from all kinds of themes. Those in the US will also be receiving the summer 2022 models that were widely released earlier in the year to boot. Considering that and the 90th-anniversary sets, it might be wise to prioritise some over others.

While we can’t see the future and know for sure that any of these LEGO sets will sell out soon after their release, here are four models that we think have a good chance of being popular on August 1, 2022.

4 – 21058 Great Pyramid of Giza

Though 21058 Great Pyramid of Giza is already available in most regions, it launches for the first time in the US on August 1, 2022. It hasn’t sold out so far, but it’s one of only two new LEGO Architecture sets for 2022, making it especially desirable for enthusiasts of the theme. It also breaks new ground for LEGO Architecture, depicting a landmark as it might have been in ancient history.

3 – 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5

Either 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 or 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T would have fit suitably in this slot as both include the first minifigures for Fast & Furious and 007, as well as smaller and more affordable versions of cars from the franchises. For their nostalgia factor and the opportunity to get a James Bond minifigure, it seems likely that one or both of these Speed Champions sets should be a priority.

2 – 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle

Based on the demand that the online LEGO community has demonstrated for a new, huge and detailed LEGO castle, especially on Ideas, it’s not out of the question that 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle will be popular. However, note that this 90th-anniversary creation isn’t launching at the start of August, but will be available from August 3 for VIP members or August 8 for everyone.

1 – 75337 AT-TE Walker

Unfortunately, 75337 AT-TE Walker has been delayed in the US, but that might be even more of a reason to prioritise it when it eventually launches in the region. For everyone else, 75337 AT-TE Walker is the latest version of the walker but most notably includes the first phase 2 Commander Cody minifigure complete with an orange visor, making it especially appealing to minifigure collectors.
