Four new pieces in the LEGO Harry Potter summer 2022 sets

The latest entries to the LEGO Wizarding World will introduce a variety of new pieces, most of which might stay within LEGO Harry Potter.

As exciting as the reveal of new LEGO Harry Potter sets might be, there’s one other important aspect to the summer 2022 wave that might shape the future of the theme – new bricks.

From the second house-elf in LEGO Harry Potter to a new hat (exciting, we know), here are four fresh pieces in the summer 2022 range of the brick-built Wizarding World.

4 – Kreacher’s head

Dobby will be joined by Kreacher later this year as LEGO Harry Potter gets its second house-elf, with a new head piece with drooping ears and a scowling expression to match.

3 – Broomstick bristles

We’ve already explored this brick and the possibilities it holds in detail here, but both 76406 Hungarian Horntail Dragon and 76408 12 Grimmauld Place include the bristles of a broomstick as a new piece, allowing the magical transports to be customised with more pieces in future.

2 – A new hair and hat combo

Madam Pince includes what appears to be a new hair and hat combo element in 76402 Hogwarts: Dumbledore’s Office, with room for a feather or other suitable brick that might be useful for other fantasy minifigures. We can’t remember seeing this piece in other sets, so it seems to be new for 2022.

1 – A baby Thestral

One element that’s definitely never been seen before is the first appearance of a baby Thestral in LEGO Harry Potter, standing alongside a fully-grown version in 76400 Hogwarts Carriage and Thestrals. While it might be useful outside of LEGO Harry Potter, this brick is still oddly adorable.
