Four things we spotted in the Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer

The third season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian has a new trailer filled with details, characters and vehicles to find ahead of its debut in 2023.

At the D23 Expo 2022’s Lucasfilm, Marvel and 20th Century Studios panel, the first trailer for the third season of The Mandalorian was revealed after footage was shown to San Diego Comic-Con attendees. The next season of the series will see Mandalore in live action for the first time (aside from a small flashback sequence).

With The Mandalorian being a regular part of LEGO Star Wars in recent years, we’ve analysed the third season’s trailer to see what can be spotted.

4 – The ruins of Sundari

The domed city of Sundari is in ruins following the Empire’s attack on Mandalore and seeing the ruins of the capital city in the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 allows us to see just how devastating the purge was. What the return to the planet will mean for the series and its cast isn’t yet clear, though we’ll know more in 2023.

3 – A new look for Greef Karga

Greek Karga is sporting a new outfit in the third season’s trailer, looking more regal than ever before as Nevarro’s magistrate. We can also see a better look at the various improvements made to the planet’s city following a look in the second season with a lot more greenery scattered around. Unfortunately, it seems that the peace won’t last long as warriors are seen dropping in and attacking, but we don’t know why.

2 – An imposing throne

Mandalorians seem to have a fondness for thrones as one shot of the trailer shows Din Djarin and Grogu approaching Bo-Katan Kryze comfortably sitting on an imposing throne. While the exact details of future LEGO Star Wars sets have not been confirmed, based on the existence of 75310 Duel on Mandalore, this scene could make for a small model with easier access to the Bo-Katan and Din Djarin minifigures.

1 – A big ship

Following the acquisition of Din Djarin’s modified N-1 Starfighter in The Book of Boba Fett, the trailer reveals that we can look forward to plenty of airborne and spacefaring battles in the third season of The Mandalorian, including one involving a large, pointed ship that could serve as inspiration for a future LEGO Star Wars set too.
