Free LEGO Unity minifigure for Ideas contest entries revealed

LEGO Games and Unity have revealed the free minifigure you’ll get just for taking part in the latest LEGO Ideas contest.

Every single entry in the LEGO Microgame contest will receive a unique code to redeem their free limited-edition minifigure, which features a unique torso, interchangeable heads and hairpieces, and a video game controller accessory.

If previous LEGO exclusives are anything to go by, this will likely be a big hit on the collector’s market a few years from now, so don’t miss out on your chance to grab one. All you need to do is create your own LEGO Microgame using the official platform (developed in collaboration with Unity), then upload it to the contest page.

The entire process can be done in around 45 minutes (or so the LEGO Ideas team claims), but if you really don’t know where to begin, tune into Unity’s ‘Game Jam’ livestream on February 13 for a primer.

Over the course of the session, Unity’s Developer Advocate Ashley Alicea, Community Manager Carol Trang, and the LEGO Group’s Senior Product Lead Rasmus Harr will walk you through creating a LEGO Microgame from scratch – including how to use two new LEGO Behaviour Bricks to incorporate a quest into your game.

It gets underway from 6pm UK time, and you can set a reminder by visiting Unity’s YouTube channel, or find out more on the Game Jam premise by clicking here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
