Gothamist reveal new Architecture Series

The Gothamist website was selected to reveal the new Skyline series that is coming in 2016. The first wave features some iconic skylines including New York. Here is what the Gothamist had to say on the New York Skyline;

The landmarks chosen to represent NYC’s iconic skyline in LEGO form have been announced, and they are (drumroll please): the Flatiron Building, Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty. But… why? The LEGO rep couldn’t tell us why those particular structures were the ones chosen, so it remains a mystery why the Woolworth Building was cruelly left out.

LEGO does say that, despite that glaring omission, this set does “capture the architectural essence of New York City.” And somehow does it all in an homage that’s just 10″ high, 9” wide and 1” deep.

This is the first time LEGO has brought entire city skylines to their architecture series, and it won’t hit shelves until January 1st.
