Harrison Ford cast in next Marvel Studios’ Captain America film

Harrison Ford has reportedly been cast as Thaddeus Ross in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: New World Order following William Hurt’s passing.

Deadline reports that Harrison Ford has been cast as Thaddeus Ross following the death of actor William Hurt earlier this year. Previously, Hurt had portrayed the character in seven projects, taking over from Sam Elliott in the Incredible Hulk.

However, it’s now being reported that in Captain America: New World Order, the first movie outing of Anthony Mackie as Captain America, will feature Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross.

Harrison Ford has a legacy of films that many will likely be familiar with, including the likes of Han Solo in Star Wars and Indiana Jones in the titular franchise, which is getting a fifth film in 2023

Captain America: New World Order is currently scheduled for release on May 3, 2024. The cast also includes Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley and Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, as well as director Julius Onah. Tim Blake Nelson will also reprise his role as Doctor Samuel Sterns, also known as The Leader from The Incredible Hulk with Shira Haas as Sabra too.
