More LEGO Star Wars 2022 set rumours surface online

More rumours have emerged surrounding next year’s LEGO Star Wars line-up, pointing to another re-released version of a familiar vehicle.

Instagram user lego_club_news reports that 75322 Hoth AT-ST is launching in 2022, expanding the expected Hoth line-up beyond 75320 Hoth Battle Pack and this year’s rumoured 75313 AT-AT. It means we’re apparently in store for a very snowy winter in the LEGO Star Wars theme – and possibly into spring, given previous rumours of a possible AT-AT Pilot Helmet.

This latest AT-ST would be the first time the LEGO Group has tackled a Hoth version from The Empire Strikes Back, with previous models drawing on Return of the Jedi, Rogue One and The Mandalorian.

According to lego_club_news, the set will retail for $59.99 in the US, making it the most expensive version of the AT-ST to date. 2016’s 75153 AT-ST Walker retailed for $39.99, while 2019’s 75254 AT-ST Raider is available now for $49.99.

More intriguing is that 75322 Hoth AT-ST will reportedly be an 18+ set, following in the footsteps of this summer’s 75296 Darth Vader Meditation Chamber. That’s a curious decision for what would typically be a very playable vehicle, and suggests the extra $10 on the current AT-ST could potentially have gone in to making the new model more of a detailed display piece.

Instagram user lego_fulcrum – who originally shared part of this rumour – claims to know more of the LEGO Star Wars 2022 line-up, so even more news of next year’s sets will likely land online very shortly. Until confirmed otherwise by the LEGO Group, though, take it all very lightly.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

I dont really understand the point of re-releasing almost identical set which is currently still in stock. Obviously i am talking about at st walker. It hasnr even retired yet, but already another one is lined up. And from what i gathered, there will be hardly any difference between them

This will not be the most expensive AT-ST Lego has released. That title belongs to the 1000 piece, 18″ tall 2006 UCS AT-ST. Retailed for $79.99
