LEGO Batman Tumblers prices and release dates confirmed

Both new LEGO Batman Tumblers are now listed at LEGO.com, confirming their individual prices and release dates.

76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown and 76240 Batmobile Tumbler both offer a unique take on Batman’s tank-like transport from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, only at wildly different ends of the size and price spectrum.

The smaller of the two sets weighs in at 422 pieces, and includes minifigures of both Batman and Scarecrow, based on their designs in the 2008 movie. It’s due to hit shelves both real and virtual a month from today, launching on October 1 for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99.

76240 Batmobile Tumbler will then arrive precisely one month later on November 1, weighing in at £209.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 for 2,049 pieces. That larger set also includes two minifigures, this time of a more detailed Batman and Heath Ledger’s Joker, along with a display stand that matches the aesthetics of 76139 1989 Batmobile and 76161 1989 Batwing.

The former of those Tim Burton-inspired sets is due to retire by the end of 2021, and 76240 Batmobile Tumbler is clearly intended to be its replacement in the Bat-portfolio. 76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown, meanwhile, will be the second of the Caped Crusader’s minifigure-scale rides to arrive this year, following 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile.

Both of the new Tumblers are currently available to pre-order in the US, but you’ll have to wait for their respective release dates to purchase them in the UK and Europe.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
