Even if this is the droid you’re looking for you might struggle to get 75308 R2-D2 as the May the Fourth LEGO Star Wars set is already on backorder on the official online store.

Before even the first full day of the LEGO Star Wars event could end, this year’s set, which also marks the 50^th anniversary of Lucasfilm is on backorder at LEGO.com

The demand for the set may not be too surprising, but when paired with the fact that other elements of the LEGO Group’s May the Fourth offers have sold out too, it makes for an unfortunate turn of the events before the big day could even arrive.

Those still hoping to get the astromech model for themselves can continue to order 75308 R2-D2 and your copy will be shipped by May 12, though this may change as demand for the set continues.

It’s not surprising to see the demand for the build, with so many features and details packed into it, making it a comparable remake of the original 2012 model. We’ll keep you updated on the stock of this year’s May the Fourth as the event continues until May 5.
