LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga looks to be a no-show at E3 2021
Despite all signs originally pointing to the contrary, it now looks like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be a complete no-show at this year’s virtual E3 event.
The heavily-anticipated (and twice-delayed) sequel seemed sure to make some kind of appearance at E3, two years on from the event that originally debuted the saga-spanning title. That’s because both Lucasfilm and developer TT Games followed the official E3 Twitter account in the run-up to the show, while Warner Bros. Games had also lined up a dedicated panel.
Unfortunately, that all seems to have amounted to nothing. Yesterday’s presentation from the veteran publisher of LEGO video games focused exclusively on its new multiplayer survival horror Back 4 Blood, with precisely zero mention of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The title was also absent from Microsoft’s Xbox showcase, which means the opportunities for any news on the game from E3 are rapidly drying up.
All hope now rests on the shoulders of tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct, which kicks off at 9am PT / 12pm ET (or 5pm UK time). It’s not entirely out of the question that Warner Bros. Games would use Nintendo’s panel to showcase LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – the LEGO titles are the platform’s best-selling third-party franchise, after all – but it does seem unlikely.
For now, we’re still in the dark over when LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will launch, or indeed any details beyond last year’s gameplay trailer and a few tidbits from a magazine interview all the way back in January.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
