LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s Head of Design leaves TT Games
TT Games’ Head of Design Arthur Parsons – who’s worked on titles from LEGO Batman: The Videogame through to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – has left the studio after 22 years.
The veteran game designer announced on Twitter that he’s stepped down from his role at TT Games, the studio responsible for almost every single LEGO video game since the original LEGO Star Wars: The Videogame arrived in 2005.
“I have a lifetime of memories working with THE BEST people on 30 or so brilliant games,” he said. “It has been an amazing journey, and I am thankful to have had the opportunities I have over the years.
“I could probably fill a YouTube channel with memories there are that many! I am sad to leave behind my work family, some of whom I’ve effectively grown up with, and many of whom I have seen flourish, but I am excited by whatever the future holds. Thanks for a fantastic ride.”
The longlist of LEGO video games Parsons has been involved in stretches all the way back to 2006 with BIONICLE Heroes, which he worked on a designer. By LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 in 2010 he had graduated to the role of Game Director, before becoming the Head of Design for 2017’s LEGO Worlds and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.
According to Parsons’ LinkedIn profile, his most recent role at TT Games was in that same Head of Design capacity on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Given we’re surely only a matter of months away from the release of that eagerly-anticipated title, leaving at this stage may indicate much of the game’s broad strokes are already complete – or it could indicate trouble is brewing over the long-gestating sequel…

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
