TT Games’ next title rumoured to be LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse

New rumours suggest that developer TT Games’ next major release may in fact be a LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse and Friends title.

With the launch of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga earlier in the year, many fans of TT Games may be wondering what’s next for the developer. Despite reports of crunch on that title and a number of key staff leaving to set up rival studio 10:10 Games, a recent listing on the WarnerMedia careers page states that TT Games is actively working on something big.

The role of Senior Combat Designer for the company is still up for grabs, with details of the position mentioning that the role will be for ‘an exciting new LEGO game based on a major IP’. Whilst no specific brands or themes are mentioned, a recent YouTube video posted by Azzatru may have shed some more light on the subject.

During the video, which discusses a long-overdue software update recently released for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the YouTuber mentions that the majority of TT Games have now moved on to the studio’s next project. He then reveals that the title most of the staff are currently focused on is a rumoured LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse and Friends video game.

The YouTuber says that the game has been in development as far back as 2020, according to apparent leaked information from some developers working on the project. A link discovered via Reddit suggests that these details may have originally come from a comment posted on a Fanbyte interview regarding working conditions at the studio during development of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

The comment from user ‘Holy Pews’ goes on to mention that they are indeed one such developer working on LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse and Friends and that the game features, ‘more traditional Disney IPs such as Mickey Mouse, Maleficent, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Book, Nightmare Before Xmas etc.’ The user also states the game currently has an internal working title of ‘Project Marley.’

Although there’s been no confirmation whatsoever regarding the title from either the LEGO Group or TT Games, the rumour does at least make kind of sense. Disney will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023, which would mean a LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse and Friends video game would certainly arrive at the perfect time. 

Despite the LEGO Group having reportedly ended its exclusivity agreement with TT Games, the massive success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga would also seem to suggest that a working partnership between the two companies may continue, at least for the foreseeable future.

For now though, do consider all of this information as pure speculation and fan wish fulfilment until otherwise confirmed by official sources.
