Two new LEGO Halloween 2021 sets revealed

The LEGO Group’s building instructions service has revealed two brand new Halloween 2021 sets, 40493 Spider & Haunted House Pack and 40497 Halloween Owl.

There’s only an image of the former set at the moment, which bundles together two pretty disparate ornaments to hang on your… Halloween tree? Or from the mantle, maybe. One’s an adorable spider with two giant eyes, and the other is a microscale haunted house that feels like an homage to 10228 Haunted House in its sand green colour scheme.

40497 Halloween Owl is listed sans image, so we can only dream about what it might contain. Our money’s on some kind of owl, probably with a Halloween-esque twist. But will it be a character build akin to the Chinese New Year sets, like 40417 Year of the Ox, or a BrickHeadz statuette? The product number suggests the former, but we’ll hopefully find out for sure fairly soon.

Expect both of these sets to be available to purchase directly from LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores in the run-up to October 31. Given they’re already on the building instructions section of the official LEGO website, there’s a good chance they could launch as soon as August. We’ll keep you posted.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
