Giant golden statues of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Grainger are each waiting for you in Covent Garden, and the castle streets of Cardiff and Edinburgh. Finding them is the first step to winning the LEGO Group’s Magical Mystery hunt.
For those unfamiliar, the event started yesterday as a celebration of the LEGO Harry Potter 20th anniversary, a celebration which the LEGO Group has also celebrated by comparing minifigures with two decades between them.
The goal of the contest is to find one of three minifigure models for Harry, Ron and Hermione in London, Edinburgh and Cardiff. From there, all you need to do is scan a code that will lead you to the hidden location of a brick-built Ford Anglia.
The first person to locate the vehicle will win every LEGO Harry Potter set currently available. However, anyone who approaches it after the fact will be entered into a prize draw for the grand reward as well as tickets to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition.
You only have until the end of this weekend to find those minifigures so should you happen to live nearby to any of the three cities, there’s still time to get started with the Magical Mystery Hunt. Time’s also running out to enter our Magical Minifigure hunt, which you don’t need to be in a UK city to enter.
