Last chance for LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Round 2 sets

The second round of crowdfunding for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program closes tomorrow, making this your last chance to pre-order any of the three remaining sets.

Both Krisnow’s Modular LEGO Store and BlackQubit’s Venetian Houses have already sold through their allocations of 10,000 sets, but Alan Avila’s Retro Bowling Alley, Harry Finkel’s Mountain Windmill and Mark Smiley’s Clockwork Aquarium are all still available to purchase in the 30 countries the BrickLink Designer Program ships to.

You’ve only got until midnight UK time on December 15 to get your order in, though: after that, you’ll have to turn to the aftermarket if you want any of these three sets (once they’ve shipped, of course). That’s 1pm CET on December 15, or 4pm PT / 7pm ET on December 14 in the US, or just over 36 hours away at the time of publication.

According to BrickLink’s Help Center, all sets purchased in the second round of crowdfunding will begin shipping in the third quarter of 2022. The initial batch of sets from the first round will begin shipping imminently – you can check out their box art here for an idea of what to expect from the builds in this round.

The third and final round of crowdfunding currently includes nine different LEGO Ideas 10K projects, the first five of which to reach 3,000 pre-orders will go into production. There’s no word yet on when pre-orders will open for those sets, but based on the timeline of the first two rounds, we’re expecting it to happen around spring 2022.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
