Last night’s Nintendo Direct was a bust for LEGO Star Wars fans

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was a total no-show at last night’s Nintendo Direct, which means we still don’t know when we’ll be able to play TT Games’ long-awaited sequel.

Okay, so we weren’t really expecting the ambitious saga-spanning game to feature in Nintendo’s showcase of current and upcoming titles, but we’re so desperate to hear more about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga that we still held out a tiny bit of hope.

Instead, Nintendo spent most of the 50-minute address focusing on its own in-house titles like Splatoon 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, leaving LEGO Star Wars fans locked in our current state of limbo.

As far as we know, the game is still on track to arrive in spring 2021 (even if at least one fan thinks otherwise), but the vernal equinox is now just over a month away. That means LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s launch window is almost upon us, and we haven’t really heard anything else about the title since TT Games debuted a new trailer at Gamescom 2020, all the way back in August.

We’ll keep you posted if and when we hear more about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. For now, you can find out everything we know so far by checking out our complete guide to the game.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
