The latest LEGO Botanical Collection set has competition

The newest LEGO Botanical Collection set coming soon, 10329 Tiny Plants, might have some fierce competition from the start.

While 10329 Tiny Plants looks set to pair well with another upcoming LEGO plant and will add some more options to minifigure’s wardrobes, it might have to face off against a similar model from the same collection.

10309 Succulents is currently scheduled to remain on shelves past the end of the year according to our sources (though this is subject to change), meaning it won’t be replaced by 10329 Tiny Plants for 2024, despite the two sharing a similar concept. It’s not uncommon for LEGO sets to retire to make way for another with close models immediately after. However, that’s not going to be the case with the LEGO Botanical Collection’s newest entry.

10309 Succulents features models that seem to be inspired by an orange monroe, an aloe plant, an Hens and Chicks, a red and lavender echeveria, a Moon cactus, a Ball cactus, a Burro’s Tail and a sedum luteoviride. The plants in 10329 Tiny Plants are a Venus flytrap, a red sundew, pitcher plants, an unnamed succulent, a prickly pear and a pincushion cacti as well as a jade plant, false shamrock and a laceleaf.

10329 Tiny Plants9£44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99758

While 10309 Succulents only covers succulents and 10329 Tiny Plants covers a wide range of plants, the contents of the two are still notably similar. They are within 15 elements of each other in terms of piece count and consist of nine builds of varying sizes. They also cost £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 each.

However, there are a couple of key differences between these builds that may have allowed them to share some shelf space. 10309 Succulents’ more modern pots contrast with 10329 Tiny Plantsclassic brown containers of varying sizes, while they are all the same size in 10309 Succulents. These can also be rearranged, while 10329 Tiny Plants is designed for the builds to be displayed separately, but grouped.

Despite their contents as well as price and piece counts, 10309 Succulents and 10329 Tiny Plants might be able to share shelf space throughout the end of the year and beyond thanks to their different display features. 10309 Succulents is available and 10329 Tiny Plants is to be released on December 1 though pre-orders are open now.
