LEGO 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery blasts off in new designer video

You can now get a closer look at LEGO 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery ahead of launch thanks to a designer video, including some behind-the-scenes knowledge on the development of the set.

The accompanying designer video for the latest large LEGO model has now released, giving us an intricate glance at the most recent product of the LEGO Group and NASA’s continued collaboration.

LEGO designer Milan Madge leads the interstellar investigation into the model, including a rundown of play features, new bricks, hidden details and more.

The release of 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery comes as the original mission celebrates its 40th anniversary, even including a replica of the Hubble Space Telescope and an individual stand for each of the models, a good solution for displaying them separately.

As with most designer videos, the expert LEGO builders have revealed some of the secrets within the model, including a heart-warming solution to designing the wings and the importance of the design for the Hubble Space Telescope build.

LEGO 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery launches April 1 2021 for £169.99 / $199.99 / €179.99 and contains 2,354 pieces. You can find out more about the model here in a gallery of images and learn how the LEGO Group enlisted the help of a former astronaut
