LEGO 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell might offer a look at future minifigure
There are plenty of details to unpick in LEGO Icons 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell – including one that could hint at the future of the brick-built franchise.
10316 doesn’t quite represent a return to the LEGO The Lord of the Rings theme, being launched among LEGO Icons. The Lord of the Rings-themed BrickHeadz are also in their own theme, but that doesn’t mean that other structures and figures couldn’t appear, just like these sets have.
In fact, a hint at another possible minifigure appears within 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell. A stickered painting of Sauron, commemorating the moment just before Isildur sent the Lord of Mordor into a lengthy hibernation, can be seen on one of Rivendell’s arched hallways.
While Isildur looks much like any armoured minfiigure, Sauron has a unique look. Much like Isildur’s broken sword that can be seen in 10316 itself, the painting could be hinting at future new elements, namely Sauron’s striking shoulder pieces, spiked helmet, and iconic mace weapon.
Of course, we don’t know for sure a LEGO Sauron will be on his way. Still, if the Dark Lord is indeed returning, then it would make sense for his minifigure to look much like this one does in the stickered painting.
