LEGO 2019 financial results at a glance

The LEGO Group has provided a version of the 2019 financial results at a glance in one handy infographic.

Today has seen the LEGO Group release the company’s financial results for 2019, reporting increased profits, sales and revenue compared to the year before. It is presented as positive news, especially in light of revenue and profits decreasing just two years ago.

As the handy infographic shows, revenue grew by 6% to DKK 38.5 billion (approx £4.5 billion). Operating profit increased by 1% to to DKK 10.8 billion (approx £1.25 billion). Consumer sales increased by 5.6%.

In addition to reporting on the company’s financial situation, the annual report highlights some of the achievements and milestones from 2019. These include 25 years of the LEGO Games department, which launched LEGO Tower last year, and the introduction of the ‘mied reality’ theme, Hidden Side.

The opening of 150 new LEGO Stores, many in China, is listed in the ‘innovating retail’ section, with a note that the company will also elevate retail partnerships – perhaps to make sure retailers are not concerned by the expansion of brand stores.

“We are very pleased with this result and I would like to thank our dedicated colleagues for their amazing contribution. It was a strong year where we outperformed the toy industry and grew consumer sales and market share in all our largest markets,” says LEGO CEO, Niels B Christiansen.
