LEGO 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute GWP available now

The LEGO Group’s latest gift-with-purchase, 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute, is now available with qualifying orders.

You’ll need to spend £100 / $100 / €100 to grab the 203-piece rendition of Amelia Earhart’s bright red Lockheed Vega 5B, which the aviation pioneer flew solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. Its release is timed perfectly with International Women’s Day, which falls on Monday, March 8.

While 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute lands on March 6, the LEGO Group has disclosed that the UK is bundled in with Europe for new launches, meaning it should technically be available as you read this – that is, from 11pm UK time on March 5.

If you’re on the fence with this GWP, check out our review to see why you should really be prioritising it, then head over to LEGO.com to secure your copy. It’s impossible to say how long the set will be available for, but it seems destined to be one of the more popular gifts the LEGO Group has offered in recent months.

To that end, you’re probably not going to want to wait for this one – but there’s plenty to buy to take you to that £100 / $100 / €100 threshold, including dozens of newly-released sets from Star Wars, Monkie Kid, NINJAGO, Disney, Marvel, Friends and more.

You’ve got until March 14 to pick up 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute, or until stock runs out. Based on recent precedent (including the Porsche owners’ pack selling out in 30 minutes), we know which we reckon will happen first.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
