LEGO 40462 Valentine’s Bear officially revealed

The LEGO Group has officially revealed a brand new seasonal set coming in 2021, 40462 Valentine’s Bear.

The first low-res images of the model appeared online a few days ago. But now, the LEGO Group has officially lifted the lid on the seasonal set, with official images, piece count and a launch date for the buildable bear.

The 239-piece set will arrive in LEGO Stores and at LEGO.com on January 1, which gives you plenty of time to grab a copy ahead of everyone’s favourite Hallmark holiday in February. You’ll need to part with £13.49 / $14.99 / €14.99 to pick it up.

Check out all the new, hi-res images of the set below.

Along with the titular animal, 40462 Valentine’s Bear includes a buildable base with picnic blanket, heart-shaped balloons and a heart-shaped gift. The bear stands over 11cm tall, and even has articulated arms. The LEGO Group’s official flavour text describes the set as ‘a romantic Valentine’s Day surprise for LEGO fans’, but we’ll leave you to be the judge of that.

The LEGO Group has also revealed the first official images of 40466 Chinese New Year Pandas, 40468 Yellow Taxi and 40469 Tuk Tuk, along with more images and details for the two new LEGO flowers sets arriving in January.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
