LEGO Seasonal 40491 Year of the Tiger GWP coming next week

If you’ve been holding out on buying new sets, good news: LEGO Seasonal 40491 Year of the Tiger will be free with qualifying purchases online and in-store from next week.

You’ll need to spend £85 in the UK, $85 in the US or €85 in Europe to grab the 193-piece freebie, which follows on from 2021’s 40417 Year of the Ox and 2020’s 40355 Year of the Rat. It’ll be available from January 10 – the same day the Chinese New Year sets launch in the US – through January 27, or while stocks last.

There’s no need to pick up either 80108 Lunar New Year Traditions (review) or 80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival (review) to qualify for 40491 Year of the Tiger, as any and all products across the current portfolio will contribute to the spend threshold. But as you can read in those linked reviews, they’re both well worth your time if you haven’t nabbed them already.

It’ll also stack with another free polybag, 30562 Monkie Kid’s Underwater Journey, which will be available with a £40 / $40 / €40 spend on NINJAGO or Monkie Kid sets from January 10 to 27. That means an £85 / $85 / €85 order that includes at least £40 / $40 / €40 or Monkie Kid or NINJAGO products will net you both gifts-with-purchase in one go.

In the meantime, you can still pick up a free LEGO CITY or Friends polybag with qualifying orders online and in-store. Click here for more details on those.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
