LEGO Seasonal 40499 Santa’s Sleigh officially revealed

A LEGO Certified Store in Australia has officially revealed this year’s other must-have Christmas set, 40499 Santa’s Sleigh.

Coming in as an almost essential accompaniment to the newly-revealed Winter Village set 10293 Santa’s Visit, which launches for VIP members tomorrow, 40499 Santa’s Sleigh includes four of the new reindeer that debuted in last year’s 10275 Elf Club House.

That alone makes it worth grabbing when it arrives on shelves, but for your money you’ll also cop a very decent sleigh – complete with gifts and a secret compartment – plus the newest version of Santa Claus, who’s rocking dual-moulded boots for the first time across this set and 10293 Santa’s Visit.

We’re still waiting on confirmation of release date and international pricing for 40499 Santa’s Sleigh, but we’ll likely get both very soon given it’s already available to purchase at a LEGO Certified Store in Australia. It’s retailing down under for $59.99, suggesting a UK price tag of £30.99 (based on 40516 Everyone is Awesome, which sells for the same price in Australia).

Last year’s headline LEGO Seasonal set 40426 Christmas Wreath 2-in-1 sold out in less than a month, so don’t expect this one to hang around when it does launch. An October 1 release date seems likeliest at this point, but check back with Brick Fanatics for confirmation as soon as we get it.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
