LEGO 40646 Daffodils and 40644 Piñata prices and release date confirmed

The two previously-revealed LEGO exclusives 40646 Daffodils and 40644 Piñata are now listed online, confirming their prices and release date.

Initially unveiled through the Pick a Brick section of LEGO.com earlier this week, both of these sets will go on sale exclusively at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores from January 1, 2023. 40646 Daffodils is the latest addition to the Botanical Collection, as confirmed by its box art, which now mirrors the likes of 10309 Succulents and 10311 Orchid (as opposed to the plain yellow packaging of 40460 Roses and 40461 Tulips).

With 216 pieces in the box – which is marked 18+, like the rest of the Botanical Collection – 40646 Daffodils will retail for £10.99 in the UK and €12.99 in Europe. It’s yet to show up on LEGO.com in the US, but the quartet of white and yellow flowers are likely to retail stateside for $12.99. The product description for the set also mentions combining it with 10313 Wildflower Bouquet, which has yet to be officially revealed at all.

40644 Piñata, meanwhile, will retail for £8.99 in the UK, €9.99 in Europe and (in all likelihood) $9.99 in the US, though the latter price has yet to be confirmed. As suspected, the colourful 206-piece set can indeed split open to reveal its contents – in this case, 1×1 round tiles – mimicking a real-life piñata. Probably best not to eat these elements, though, even if the LEGO Group does explicitly say they’re ‘replicating sweets’.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
