LEGO 71047 Dungeons & Dragons minifigures’ pieces look familiar

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71047 Dungeons & Dragons is out now, including some elements that should look familiar from a wide range of sets.

The 12 characters in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons include a vast array of prints as well as pieces new and old. Some aren’t entirely brand-new or exclusive to 71047 Dungeons & Dragons though, but they’re still exceedingly rare.

Here are five pieces in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons that should look familiar to LEGO fans whether you’ve been with the hobby for a while or are new to the world of LEGO. You can head out on the hunt for all 12 minifigures in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons now and use Brick Search to scan the codes on the bottom of the boxes to discover who is inside.

Hocus Pocus hair

One of the most obvious repeated elements in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons is found in Tasha the Witch Queen’s minifigure. Her combined hat and hair piece is also included in LEGO Ideas 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage. The flowing hair design might be intended to match Tasha’s pose on the cover of Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything book.

Aarakocra or anthropomorphic eagle?

The Aarakocra Ranger in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons isn’t the first winged humanoid minifigure with a beak. LEGO The Legends of Chima is one of the most notable previous examples of humanoid bird characters. The new and improved wing element in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons could be ideal for upgrades to Legends of Chima minifigures too, allowing them to have wings without wearing the bulky armour piece.

A musical paladin

71047 Dungeons & Dragons‘ Dragonborn Paladin may as well multiclass into bard as their head piece has been reused from 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, which in turn debuted in LEGO VIDIYO. The retired music-based theme featured two dragon minifigures and the theme’s legacy continues to live on through LEGO Dungeons & Dragons.

The first new Dungeons & Dragons piece

LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale debuted a new hair and pointed ear element. It has quickly returned in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons, but now with yellow ears. This will be perfect for standard minifigure characters as well as Gith.

The walking brain

While the Intellect Devourer element in the Mind Flayer minifigure is a brand-new piece. A walking brain isn’t entirely new for the LEGO Group. LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 2013 includes 79100 Kraang Lab Escape and in turn, the only exposed Kraang element. Suffice to say, the two pieces look similar.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
