LEGO Star Wars 75337 AT-TE Walker moves to back order in the US

LEGO Star Wars 75337 AT-TE Walker finally launched in the US yesterday – and it’s already on back order through to September.

The first LEGO Star Wars set to include a Phase II Commander Cody minifigure is (unsurprisingly) proving pretty popular stateside, as fans are finally able to get their hands on the walker for its retail price. Delays caused by ‘delivery challenges’ in the US led to one copy selling for almost $600 on eBay, but the wind has now been taken out of the reseller market with its wide launch online.

You’ll still need to turn to those secondary sites if you’re really desperate to get your hands on 75337 AT-TE Walker, however, as the 1,082-piece set has already moved to back order at LEGO.com. The online store currently says it’ll ship by September 16, or up to a full month from today – but you’ll guarantee yourself a copy for $139.99 by ordering, and earn VIP points in the process.

That means it’s still the most cost-effective way of adding the Revenge of the Sith vehicle and its suite of Clone Troopers to your collection – even if it does require a bit of patience. You’ll probably want to act quickly, though, as history tells us that the next stage from ‘back order’ is more likely to be ‘temporarily out of stock’ than ‘available now’ (it’s currently unavailable in the UK and Europe, for instance).

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
