LEGO brick artist to repair walls during Nuart Festival

Artist Jan Vormann will be filling in the gaps in real life brickwork with LEGO bricks at Nuart Festival in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Nuart Festival will see Jan Vormann demonstrating his Dispatchwork project, which will see him repairing damages walls with LEGO bricks. The festival is a celebration of street art, and Vormann is asking for donations of LEGO elements from the public.

Vormann is the first artist announced for the festival, the Evening Express reports. Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, told the website: “This is a wonderful invitation for children and adults alike to engage with their city in a fun and interactive way and we can’t wait to see the results.

“It is an honour to have Jan Vormann to bring his Dispatchwork project to Nuart Aberdeen and we are sure that the public will be very eager to get involved.”

Filling gaps in brickwork with LEGO bricks has been a project of the artist’s for over a decade that has seen him engage in the activity in almost 40 cities around the world.

Nuart Festival will take place from April 18 until April 21.
