LEGO collectible coins will return later this year

If you missed out on any of the collectible coins the first time round, the LEGO Group has got you covered.

The LEGO VIP collectibles will return later this year, according to a statement from the LEGO Group in the VIP newsletter, so anyone who’s keen to complete the set will have a second chance at them. The confirmation came at the same time as they announced when the fifth and final trinket will be released for LEGO VIPs.

Each coin has its own unique design and can be redeemed in the Rewards Centre for 1,150 points. Past medallions have sold out almost instantly, so there’s probably quite a few collectors who’ll be keen to try their luck a second time around.

As well as being interested for the sake of having a complete collection, some people have been able to change the toy coins for real money by selling them online. The Space Coin, as one example, was selling on eBay for as much as £99. With the collectibles returning to the Rewards Centre, the market for secondhand coins might well plummet, as LEGO fans know they can get their hands on them in exchange for points rather than cash.
