LEGO Creator Expert 10271 Fiat 500 life-size build unveiled

To celebrate the announcement of LEGO Creator Expert 10271 Fiat 500, a 1:1 LEGO replica of the car has been unveiled in Turin, Italy.

The LEGO Group has announced the release of LEGO Creator Expert 10271 Fiat 500 tomorrow, unveiling a life-sized LEGO version of the car in Turin, Italy, where Fiat is based.

It took 189,032 LEGO bricks to put together the life-sized car that weighs 400kg and features an original Fiat 500 steering wheel. The model will be displayed among a fleet of vintage Fiat 500s in the Fiat factory, then head to the Geneva Motor Show before visiting LEGO Stores across Italy in March and April.

“The Fiat 500 is a global automotive icon – having first launched in 1957 and still a timeless classic,” says Pierre Normandin , LEGO Designer. “To see it celebrated in the beautiful city of Turin with this incredible new Creator Expert set and such an epic life-size build is testament to how beloved this car is.”

“Throughout its illustrious history, the Fiat 500 has surpassed its original material manifestation to take its place in the collective unconscious, becoming an international icon,” says Cristiano Fiorio, Head of Brand Marketing Communication, FCA EMEA Region. “This is also demonstrated by its recent exposure at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. We know well that the LEGO Group handpicks iconic products, and that the Fiat 500 is not only a car but an artistic and cultural phenomenon with strong symbolic value, as well as a joyous and colourful expression of the Italian spirit around the world.”
