LEGO DC Batman statue coming to San Diego Comic Con

The third of the LEGO Group’s life-size statues for San Diego Comic Con 2019 has been revealed today to be Batman.

With the Dark Knight celebrating the character’s 80th anniversary this year, the LEGO Group has constructed a full-sized statue of Batman. Alongside the model will be a 3D LEGO mosaic featuring a variant cover of DC Detective Comics #1000, which will stand behind Bats.

It took the LEGO Master Builders 270 hours to put together the 44,051 it took to construct the finished model, that weighs 225 pounds. The mosaic uses even more bricks, with 96,768 going into the building of it.

In other Batman news for the event, a screening of LEGO DC: Batman: Family Matters has been announced and there will be an exclusive Zebra Batman that some lucky fans will receive. LEGO DC 77903 The Dark Knight of Gotham City will be available to buy for those who have registered for the opportunity and received a timeslot.
