In 2019, Pixar’s most beloved series continued with a fourth instalment. Toy Story 4 see Woody, voiced as ever by Tom Hanks, reconnect with his lost love Bo Peep (Annie Potts). Despite the tale seemingly having been wrapped up in Toy Story 3, the toys had another story to tell. When Toy Story 3 had appeared to conclude the film series that launched Pixar as a feature film studio in 2010, the LEGO Group released a tie-in theme. It covered not just the third film but also the first two, with sets such as 7590 Woody and Buzz to the Rescue and 7598 Pizza Planet Truck Rescue capturing classic moments. It was time for more LEGO Toy Story with the release of the fourth film in 2019, with 10766 Woody & RC inspired by the first movie and the rest of the sets focused on the new one. The sets take an interesting approach, with the scale changing from model to model. 10767 Duke Caboom's Stunt Show takes an ‘off-screen’ idea combining the wannabe stunt-man with a ramp and a ring of fire. The rest of the sets take the fairground as an excuse to have some fun, with 10768 Buzz and Bo Peep's Playground Adventure inspired by the seam where Bo Peep finds Woody. 10771 Carnival Thrill Coaster and 10770 Buzz & Woody's Carnival Mania! also focus on aspects of the fairgrounf. 10769 RV Vacation gives a sense of the campsite where Bonnie and her family is staying along with the RC that they travel there in. Forky is included as a moulded and decorated little element. All of the sets in the LEGO Toy Story 4 theme are marked as ‘4+’, which means they are aimed at the youngest builders who have graduated from DUPLO. That means that there will not be sophisticated building techniques, but for fans of the franchise it makes for a great minifigure and character collection.
