LEGO’s first Horizon Forbidden West set sells out yet again

Almost as suddenly as it came back in stock, LEGO 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck has already sold out again online.

Guerrilla Games’ robo-dino is proving very tricky to come by in bricks, having spent most of its shelf life absent from LEGO.com since launching in May. The 1,222-piece Tallneck is the first (and so far, only) LEGO set based on the Horizon franchise, but there’s clearly massive demand for Aloy and the machines among the LEGO fan community.

Will that mean we see more from the PlayStation series in future? Only time will tell, but it feels very much like the LEGO Group is on to a winner with this one. For now, perhaps the more important issue is simply producing enough copies of 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, in the hope that it might stay in stock longer than a few hours.

As is, the video game-inspired set is no longer available to purchase at LEGO.com in the UK and Europe, and consequently drops out of Brick Fanatics’ Top 20 LEGO Sets List (where it would otherwise sit comfortably in the top 10). Keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for future stock updates, but remember that you’ll likely need to act fast when it does return.

Otherwise, if you’re happy to pay full price without the bonus of VIP points, 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck is currently available at Amazon in the UK.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
