LEGO House appointing a new managing director later this year

The team at the LEGO House have revealed that a new managing director is being appointed as the next phase of development begins.

Jesper Vilstrup, current managing director at the LEGO House, will be stepping down from the role this summer to make way for the LEGO Group’s head of social responsibility Kathrine Kirk Muff as she steps into the position.

“We are very grateful for everything Jesper has done to make our dream for a LEGO House a reality,” commented Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. “Thanks to his dedication and passion for our mission, we have a wonderful house in Billund which builders of all ages, from all corners of the world enjoy visiting. We wish him all the very best for his next adventure.”

“Seeing the LEGO House transform from a dream into a global attraction has been a huge honour,” explained Jesper Vilstrup. “I am grateful for my journey with LEGO House and especially for the awesome, creative and playful team who so passionately live the vision that LEGO House should be a world-class LEGO Experience and at the same time be an awesome place to work.

“I am very much looking forward to working with the talented LEGO House team on its next phase of development,” shared Kathrine Kirk Muff. “But I have big shoes to fill! Jesper has established a state-of-the-art brand experience and I can’t wait to work with the team to dream even bigger.”

That final quote confirms that the LEGO House is scheduled to undergo another phase of development, which may include the replacement of an older experience zone at the attraction. However, what this might feature has not been confirmed.
