LEGO Ideas Ferrari contest closed for entries

Time’s up on the LEGO Ideas Ferrari poster contest, which is now closed for entries.

The competition launched at the beginning of December, and tasked fans with designing an iconic Ferrari poster for the new 42125 Ferrari 488 GTE AF CORSE #51. The LEGO Group supplied all the necessary images, effectively removing the barrier to entry – you didn’t even need to break out any bricks.

That may explain why the contest has accumulated a whopping 803 entries, despite running for only half the time of a regular LEGO Ideas competition. A panel of judges from the LEGO Technic team will now select three winners, based on the following criteria:

  • Overall coolness and originality: 25%
  • Relevance to contest theme: 25%
  • Best use of shapes, colors and designs: 25%
  • Quality of designs: 25%

The winners will be announced on January 12, 2021. First place will take home a huge Ferrari prize bundle, including the following:

The runners-up will both receive a copy of 42125 Ferrari 488 GTE AF CORSE #51, along with a Ferrari goodie bag and the four smaller Technic 2021 sets: 42116 Skid Steer Loader, 42117 Race Plane, 42118 Monster Jam Grave Digger and 42119 Monster Jam Max-D.

Head over to the contest page to check out all the entries. And don’t forget, you can still enter to win a brilliant Ghostbusters prize package in another active LEGO Ideas competition.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
