LEGO Ideas Friends 21319 Central Perk gallery

Enjoy a closer look at the new LEGO Ideas set based on Friends, 21319 Central Perk, in these images that re-create some of the series’ classic moments

I absolutely adore Friends. From the warm glow of 1990s nostalgia to the writing that is still razor sharp today, there is not a single thing about the show I don’t love. So when I had the chance to review the latest LEGO Ideas set, 21319 Central Perk, I knew I wanted to try and recreate some memorable moments from the series, as well as shooting a few setups of my own too.

From a photography perspective the ingenious idea to base the build on the television studio that the Central Perk scenes were filmed in, complete with angled stage area, allowed me to easily position the minifigures almost anywhere on the set and still get a great shot. That is quite rare a treat when compared with most conventionally shaped LEGO sets.

Each of the seven exclusive minifigures are wonderful recreations of their on-screen counterparts and once placed into position onto the Central Perk set it really did feel like I was shooting my own brick built episode of the show.

I have more than 20 years in television production and photography and can finally put all that experience to good use by combining it with my number one passion in life, LEGO! I love all things brick-related, but the theme that really floats my boat is the original LEGO Pirates range. I currently have a LEGO wishlist that far outstretches my shelf space... and bank balance!
