LEGO Ideas partnering with NINJAGO for microgame project

The LEGO Group is teasing a mysterious new project involving NINJAGO, LEGO Ideas and their Unity Microgame partnership.

LEGO NINJAGO still has more surprises in store for the 10th anniversary year as the official LEGO Group Twitter account has revealed an upcoming Microgame arrangement made in conjunction with LEGO Ideas via a teaser image.

The provided picture includes all seven members of the NINJAGO Team – the six ninjas and Master Wu in their NINJAGO Legacy attire – all standing in front of a background that resembles Kai and Nya’s family blacksmith from the first season of the show.

The ‘LEGO Microgame’ writing and Unity logo also confirm that this is likely to feature the unique platform that allows users to make personalised video games using pre-made assets and plenty of digital bricks.

Further hinting at this new project, the LEGO Ideas and LEGO Games hashtags are used. The former suggests involvement from the fan-driven theme and we can imagine this being in the form of a contest similar to the event that has now made the winning games a part of LEGO history, but this time with NINJAGO-themed assets to use.

The latter could mean that the video games division of the LEGO Group will be more involved with the initiative than we initially saw in what is now the first phase of the Unity partnership.

Nothing has been confirmed for this LEGO Ideas NINJAGO Microgame event quite yet but the tweet states that more information will be arriving on September 29. Co-creator of NINJAGO – Tommy Andreasen – is unsure of what it might be too, furthering the mystery of this upcoming project.
