LEGO Ideas project of the week 24/4

While I enjoy watching my team mates battle it out for Olympic selection for Rio at London, I found a very interesting project that has massive appeal to not just LEGO fans but fans in general. Each submission as we know needs 10,000 supporting votes before it’s even considered, this stunning LEGO Voltron gets closer to reality.

Not only does len_d69’s creation look spot-on, it’s actually assembled from five smaller LEGO lions that transform and combine to form the 41cm tall robot that weighs in at around 1kg. Any smaller and all the wonderful detailing just wouldn’t come through.

At the moment this LEGO Ideas project is around 5000 votes short of moving to the next round of approval, so if you’re feeling nostalgic for one of the best cartoons of the ’80s, head on over and vote to give the Defender of the Universe a fighting chance.

it would be one of the best sets builds ever if approved but even if it passes 10’000 supporters it may be hard to acquire the rights from whichever studio owns voltron
